ANNA COSTANZA
Born in Milan in 1974, my journey towards spirituality began at the young age of 20. After exploring different corners of the world, from Australia to the United Kingdom, I finally made my home in London in 1997. It was in this vibrant city that I took my first steps on the path of yoga, immersing myself in the Sivananda Vedanta Yoga Centre.
In 2003, I decided to dedicate my life to the study and practice of yoga, embracing teaching as my exclusive vocation. During this journey, I was blessed with the gift of motherhood, bringing two wonderful children into the world in 2004 and 2007.
My practice has focused primarily on Ashtanga Yoga since 2007, and in 2013 I founded Ashtanga Yoga Alcobendas, a space where I share my love for this discipline with other seekers.
From 2013 to 2022, I made an annual trip to Mysore, India, to study at KPJAYI under the tutelage of Saraswathi, the daughter of Pattabhi Jois. During these trips, I had the privilege of helping as an assistant in the KPJAYI classes in Mysore. In 2017, I organized Saraswathiji's visit to Madrid, a moment of deep connection with the yoga tradition.
Although I have deep respect for this tradition, I feel the need to follow my own path. For this reason, my shala is not authorized by the KPJAYI.
Currently, I follow the path of yoga under the guidance of my esteemed teachers Luke Jordan and Sharmila Desai. With Luke, I have participated in retreats and intensives since 2022, and since 2023, I have established a deep teacher-student relationship with Sharmila.
Since 2017, I have shared my knowledge through study courses of Patañjali's Yoga Sūtras in various schools in Spain. Furthermore, my passion for Sanskrit leads me to continue being a tireless student of this ancient sacred language.
My new project launching in summer 2024 is called Nomad Sādhana , a platform for the systematic study of the Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali and Bhagavad Gītā
My life is dedicated to sharing the teachings of yoga with those seeking peace, connection and balance in their lives.
MYSORE PROGRAM FROM SUNDAY TO FRIDAY
In order to fully enjoy the benefits of the practice, tradition recommends practicing six days in a row, resting on the seventh day plus the days of the new moon and full moon.
Women also rest from the practice the first three days of the menstrual cycle.
WHAT IS A MYSORE PROGRAM?
The Mysore Program comprises daily classes open to all practitioners, whether beginners or experts. In these classes, teaching is provided individually to each person. It is an assisted class where the teacher adjusts and teaches according to the needs of each practitioner. Additionally, once a month, a guided class of the first series is held, which anyone can attend.

NEW
ANNUAL COURSE STUDY OF THE YOGA SUTRAS
2024-2025
The Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali are the fundamental text of the yoga system, where matter and consciousness are thoroughly investigated in order to understand the true nature of the being.
Patañjali describes various ways to achieve peace of mind, a fundamental requirement for self-realization, taking into account the different mentalities of practitioners.
These Sūtras are both one of the oldest explorations into the workings of the human mind and a manual of practice completely relevant today.
Being written in the form of aphorisms, they require interpretation for a clear understanding of their meaning.
In our courses, we use the traditional commentary of Vyāsa, also relying on the subcommentaries of Śaṃkara, Vācaspati Miśra, Bhoja Rāja, Vijñānabhikshu and Hariharānanda.
The course includes teaching the text, guided meditation practices and spaces for dialogue and reflection.
We propose to offer a course of continued study of the text “Yoga Sūtra of Patañjali” for 9 weekends in order to be able to study in sufficient depth the content of this fabulous Yoga manual.
The course aims to bring into practice and everyday life the methods that the author exposes in the text to understand the reality of the mind and achieve the true nature of the self.
